Somewhere out in the darkness,
lightning strikes, brighter than ever.

It illuminates the sky,
like a billion stars shining all at once.

I look around and watch as it strikes,
right and left just inches away from me.

The rush of the electricity,
the heat of the light, it excites me.

It excites me like fire in my veins,
cool like ice yet burning to the touch.

The thunder echoes like a thousand drums,
as the lightning strikes all around.

Like a symphony, the rain pours down, the lightning strikes
and the thunder echoes in the background.

Brighter than ever, lightning strikes,
somewhere out in the darkness.

Why am I alone but not lonely,
why do I have eyes but can't see?

There are so many questions of why,
that need to be answered.

These questions of why,
I cannot answer them on my own.

I need some one to guide me,
but I do not know who to turn to.

All I need is time,
for a moment to be me.

All I ever see is saddness,
and I don't know what to do.

Why can't people see me,
for the real me inside?

My mind is like a trapped animal,
fighting to get free.

I have kept it caged for so long,
and I want myself to be free.

But I ask myself what is it,
that I really want to be free of?

My mind tells me one things,
but my heart says another.

One body torn in two directions,
my soul not knowing which to go.

Why am I sad yet no tears come out,
why do you speak as if I am not there?

You want me to be free,
but you won't let me go.

You say that you are proud of me,
yet all I hear are harsh words.

You see me standing there,
but you just walk the other way.

You call yourself my Mother
but I see different.

You say that I am beautiful,
then you call me a slut.

You say that I am nice,
yet you turn around and call me a bitch.

You say that you are my mother
but I say that you are dead to me.

~*The Knock at the Door*~
Slowly and quietly everyone grows apart,
no one knows how or really knows why.

It just seems to sneak up on people,
people unaware that it is even happening.

Mothers, Fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters, and sons,
does not matter they are all drifting apart.

Life is short as it is,
why does fate have to come knocking?

Loud and clear the knocks echo,
as loud as the thunder sometimes.

To take away any chances,
a person like me could have had.

As the knocking echoes in my ears,
I don't dare answer the door.

Wht is awaiting me I do not know,
but it seems that if I do not answer it I will not grow.

Grow to know and understand oppertunities,
what if's and but's will hold me back from destiny.

Will I be happy to answer,
more so yes than before.

Maybe this time I will answer the knock at the door.

I can hear destiny calling my name,
but I don't know weather to answer it,
or let things stay the same.

If I let them stay the same,
then I will never know,
how far everything will grow.

But if I let them grow,
how far will they go?
Will somethings stay the same?

I do not know,
if somethings will stay the same,
and I do not know how far that they will grow.

But what I do know is,
is that if I do not let things change,
then I will never grow.

I will never change,
never know what could have been,
and what could have stayed the same.

So if I want to grow,
I must prepare for change.
